Tilly & The Buttons Cleo Dungaree Dress
For the last week my son and I have been battling an awful cold which is why I haven’t published posts for a while. To get back into sewing I thought I’d try something new. Last week I ordered the Tilly & buttons Cleo dungaree dress. Now, this is something I wouldn’t normally wear but thought I’d give it ago as I’ve only ever made myself a Skye wrap! So thought I’d venture out and see if I can brave sewing some of my own clothes. I have to say I’m really delighted with how it has turned out. I find it really difficult to find clothing that I like in my size as I’ve still not lost all of my baby weight. The pattern was amazing to read and so easy to follow. They send out a booklet with coloured pictures and very detailed descriptions on how to construct the dress. I decided I wanted to make mine in corduroy (if only I had known the amount of mess it makes when cutting I probably would have ordered a different material)! I managed to cut all of the pieces within an hour and it took me about 4 hours in total to put together, considering it was my first real attempt at making anything I thought that time was brilliant! I would definitely recommend this design as it’s so comfortable and the pattern was great! I will be ordering more of their patterns and definitely will make more of these. If you’re a newbie at sewing I would highly recommend Tilly and the Buttons patterns as they list them as ‘beginners’ ‘advanced beginners’ and so on.
