F.A.Qs

General:

Do you use plastic in your products?

Where there is no reasonable alternative, some of my products contain a very small amount of synthetic fibres or plastic hardware (such as the snap fasteners). It’s a balance between functionality, longevity, comfort and cost. All my products are designed to be reused many times over and use a tiny fraction of the plastic over their lifetime compared to disposable equivalents.

What is Zorb®?

Zorb® is the leading brand of ultra absorbent fabrics. Zorb® soaks up to 20 times faster than other materials and absorbs 10 times its weight in under 2 seconds! It is also hypoallergenic, baby safe and washes and dries easily.

What are OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics?

OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics ensure that no harsh or harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing and printing process.

Cloth Sanitary Pads:

How many do I need?

It depends on how often you're going to wash them. 10-15 pads would allow up to 3 days between washes.

How do I know which size to order?

I always suggest if you are currently using disposables, the best way to determine your size is to measure your current pads. This will give you the most comfortable size. If the pads you currently use are too big or too small you can add inches to the size and go from there!

How do I wash them and stop them from staining?

Once used, you can either:

  1. Rinse with cold water until it runs clear. Store in a wet bag until ready to wash.
  2. Dry store in a wet bag until ready to wash. Ideally, use a pre-rinse cycle before washing.

They can be washed in a washing machine between 30°C to 60°C. (Washing at higher temperatures may slightly reduce the overall lifespan).

Do they leak?

My CSPs are just as leakproof as leading disposables. No solution can be guaranteed 100% perfect but ensuring the correct size, shape and absorbency rating is used is the key to minimising any risk of leaks. Also, change regularly! You want to change these as regularly as you would disposables.

What materials do you use?

This can vary depending on range. Materials are listed on individual product pages.

How do I know which absorbency rating to choose?

It depends on how heavy your flow is. If you currently use heavy pads I would suggest using heavies. It may take some trial and error to find the best pad for you.

Which way do you wear them?

Patterned side facing your body and fleece side down.

What do you do when you're out and about?

Use wet bags! These bags are so nifty! I sell two different sizes; small and medium. The small wet bag is practical enough to take out and fit a couple of used pads in. The medium-sized bags are big enough to keep used 6-8 pads in during your cycle.

What is the difference between "standard" and "premium" pads?

Both our standard and premium pads offer excellent protection and comfort. Our premium pads use slightly different materials that allow the pads to be thinner for approximately the same absorbency.
